Your Money Story
If during your childhood your mother and father expressed alarm every time they spent more than their emotional security zone could comfortably bear, you learned a lesson, something like “money’s scary and you can’t spend much of it”. Maybe you also learned that there would never be enough money.
As you grew up and became an adult, you lacked the understanding that you could question these financial setpoints, and you learned to tell your Money Story.
“Well,” you might say, “I’m just not very good with money – no one in my family is. We just don’t seem to attract it. So I’m never quite making it.” But you’ve heard the stories of people who have chosen to disconnect from their money stories, and have succeeded! So, are you ready to make that choice as well?
Ask yourself a question:
What money story do I want to tell? And am I ready to figure out how to live it?
Understanding Abundance
“Oh, yes,” you say, “I do know what abundance is! That state of affairs is when I don’t have to worry about money anymore because I have so much of it!”
Not exactly.
Do you know that financial abundance doesn’t happen in a vacuum? Do you know that financial abundance is not the only kind of wealth you need in order to realize that desired bottom line? I know that’s not what “they” taught you, but abundance is actually bigger than money.
Abundance includes money! Abundance is actually who you are: your mindset, your expectations, your words, your self-awareness.
Ask yourself a question:
Can I see myself as an abundant human being – someone who’s rich with abilities, resources, learning abilities and far more? And when I do, how does that change me, and my outcomes?
Money is a By-Product of You
Your money mindset is just like a funnel. If it’s clear of any blockages, the money flows to varying degrees at any given time. If on the other hand the funnel is filled with “buts” and “except for when this or that happens”, and “I don’t deserve it” thoughts, then your money is delayed, your abundance gets clogged in the funnel, and the work needed to create that money becomes harder and harder.
So, what do you think now? Does your money have a lot to do with your mindset? And which path will you start on to open up the abundance you know in your heart you are meant to be, and to have?
